Godolphin had a very big day last time out and you can expect them to get it rolling again right from the first contest. The Al Bastakiya looks to be all about Kinglet – with hotshot jockey Mikael Barzalona set to take the irons. Frankie lines up with Counterglow and both have a great chance of getting home first. Keep your eye on Burano to take a portion of this one having improved last time out.
The second race of the day is the Mahab Al Shimaal and it looks like a rematch between Hitchens and Krypton Factor. Both should factor in this one with no real genuine stand out emerging in this race. Watch for Addictive Dream to push forward in this one as well.
The third jump of the day is a conditions contest on the turf where many will be expecting Prohibit to improve off the last time out. Fourth place on a seasonal debut, Jim Crowley gets in the irons once again and most will be looking for big improvement. The wildcard here is Hayley Turner aboard Margot Did – who looks a sharp selection from a ratings standpoint.
The fourth race kicks off at 2:50 and the Burj Nahaar sets up nicely for the talented Musir. Another global worldbeater in Gitano Hernando gets his Meydan campaign off to a start here with an eye on the World Cup in a few weeks. African Story, a five-year-old son of pivotal, will get some backing for a big effort in this one as well.
The Dubai City of Gold is a Group 2 contest on the turf that looks to be all about Shimran who should improve two off the freshening. Another globetrotter in Joshua Tree makes an appearance here but his form just hasn't been up to snuff as of late. Look for Lajooj to get up and make his presence felt in this one.
The sixth race is the final leg of the Al Maktoum Challenge where we've got a nice trifecta box setting up with Mendip, Haatheq and Capponi. Both have been running well in Dubai this year and Haatheq has been outperforming the odds each and every time. Fly Down makes an effort in this one while Bold Silvano and Al Shemali look to get things back on track.
The final contest is the 1m1f Jebel Hatta, a Group 1 race. City Style is a real stand-out here and will be another feather in the cap of his father City Zip. Derbaas has been looking to break through for some time and either looks to have lost a step or will fire big time here. Rio De La Plata was a disappointment last time out and could kick on while Presvis will be looking to do the same.
